Chris Brown stole the show and may have resurrected his career with a show stopping tribute to Michael Jackson at the 2010 Bet Awards. Chris Brown danced like Michael in a rendition of The Way You Make Me Feel and Billie Jean. The most memorable moment came as Chris Brown performed Man in the Mirror. Chris teared up through the song in what was clearly a song personal to Chris beyond the tribute.

Queen Latifah hosted the award show with performances that included Kanye West, Drake, Diddy Dirty Money, a medley of hits were performed by El DeBarge including rhythm of the night, Tyrese, Alicia Keys who won Best Female R&B Artist, Usher, and Trey Songz whose Mom joined him on stage for his Best Male R&B artist win. Other award winners included Beyonce and Lady Gaga for best video. Mo'Nique won Best Actress Idris Elba won Best Actor.

John Legend was awarded the Humanitarian Award. The lifetime achievement award was given to the legend and musical genius Prince. A tribute of Prince songs included Alicia Keys, Esperanza Spalding and Patti LaBelle.
