Citizens of Massachusetts should vote for the Democratic candidate Martha Coakley on Tuesday January 19th. In the special election to fill the United States Senate seat previously held by Senate icon and civil rights champion Ted Kennedy the choice is between Coakley the Massachusetts Attorney General who supports the citizens of Massachusetts against Health Insurance companies and her opponent Scott Brown whose opposition to health care reform will in essence serve to support health insurance companies, who deny coverage, and kick the people off their rolls once they get sick. Brown has not been properly vetted by the media or the people of Massachusetts unlike Coakley who has been elected by the people. Brown is posing as a moderate because the people of Massachusetts would never vote for a far right candidate. Brown even has the support of tea baggers you know the people who show up at rallies with pictures of the President with swastikas.

Further, it is not clear what Scott Brown stands for other than no. His support for abortion rights is not clear in a state that believes in the reproduction rights of women. Where does he differ on the policies of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney? Again has he been vetted, do the people really know who he is or what he stands for? Who is funding his campaign? Well he proclaims to be an every day guy who happens to drive a truck but also owns a couple of condos in Boston and a house in New Hampshire (just like most guys). Why should the people of Massachusetts support a Republican party that caused the very financial crisis that nearly brought down the American economy? A Republican party that caused the record deficit? Why should they support a guy whose solutions are to what ails Massachusetts and America, are also what nearly brought down the American economy, more tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires and less regulation of Wall Street?

The people of Massachusetts must ask themselves, do they want an economy that created the growth of the Clinton administration, which is what President Obama is pursuing or do they want the economy of George W. Bush which is an economic policy that continues to be the basis of Republican party beliefs and their candidate Scott Brown? It is unclear from his nude photo shoot to evasive answers to blind support for tax cuts even in a time of war whether or not he has what it takes to fight for what's best for Massachusetts, even if it is against what the Republican leaders want or what the tea baggers desire.

Attorney General Martha Coakley represents the best values in this Senate race. She has the courage to care and the courage to fight for what is right. She served as Chief of the Child Abuse Protection Unit protecting the most vulnerable in our society. She has the courage to stand up for the people of Massachusetts against the special interests. She supports an agenda that fights for the families of Massachusetts, regulates and reforms Wall Street, health care reform that benefits the American people over the health insurance companies, and an economy that supports job creation.
