Guru of Gang Starr RememberedHip Hop BlackState.com 20 April 2010
Hip hop music has lost another legend. According to news reports around the web including MTV.com hip hop hall of famer Guru (Keith Elam) of Gang Starr passed away at the age of 43 of cancer. The MC's smooth vocals over a fusion of hip hop and jazz and production with DJ Premier added a multi-layered dimension to hip hop during the 1990's. The public first got word of Guru's health concerns in March when he fell into a coma after suffering a heart attack.
