Lakers Suns Ron Comes Through In The End

Ron Artest's put back with no time left on the clock gave the Lakers the win and a 3-2 series lead over the tenacious Phoenix Suns. Game 5 of the Lakers vs Suns was the best yet. The Lakers took control of the game midway through the first quarter and almost relented with about three minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Lakers up by three with less than a minute.

Ron Artest went from zero to hero in less than a minute to play. With the Lakers up by three a long rebound retrieved by Artest gave the Lakers a new shot clock. However, Artest took and missed an open three to the dismay of Phil Jackson and the Laker fans in the arena. The Suns got the rebound and called time out. The next sequence led to the Suns throwing up multiple three point attempts after getting the long rebounds one of which banked off the glass and went in for Jason Richardson with about 3.5 seconds left in the game. Then it was Kobe's chance to win the game. Kobe launched a three with two defenders on his body. The attempt fell short but Artest came up with the rebound and made the shot with no more time remaining. A great ending to a great Western Conference final game.

The Suns came ready to battle. Steve Nash played like an MVP should play in a big game. He had 29 points and 11 assists. Kobe Bryant played like a guy playing for icon status should play. He almost messed around and got a triple double scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Pau Gasol played well too giving the Lakers 21 and 9. Ron Artest scored only 4 points on 2 of 9 shooting but got the only two that mattered. In the post game interview Ron Artest explained the three attempt, the put back for the win and Ron being Ron made sure there was a shout out to queensbridge.
