Rihanna and Chris Brown Should Go Their Own Way

An interesting aspect of the Chris Brown Rihanna case is the degree to which the national tabloids and entertainment celebrity television and blogs have covered their ongoing events. African American entertainers and stars especially young stars have not in the past gotten much national press in these tabloids they are not usually the targets of paparazzi flashes. Although one wishes the two stars would be getting more attention for something positive than coverage of what is possibly an abusive relationship and the bigger issue of why women stay with men that hit them.

The issue of why women stay with men that hit them has been well covered but why a woman like Rihanna who is young, has her own money, and her own success is a harder question to answer. She is not a woman without income depending on an abusive husband for financial support. Just the opposite she is young free talented and wealthy. It is true that no one knows a relationship like the couple in it but the pictures of Rihanna bloodied and bruised made reconciliation not likely.

Chris Brown whose career is now in jeopardy regrets the altercation especially because he has been charged with two felonies. Brown has also been hurt in the pocket book, he has lost endorsements and his music sales have halted. His career and all those who eat because of it depend on him reconciling and making peace with Rihanna. The couple is now reported to be back together and are recording a duet, he hopes to get out of this with nothing more than public humiliation.

This relationship is not likely to end well. They both reportedly come from abusive environments and they both need some serious counseling. They are singers and entertainers and simply to young and to busy to be seriously involved. They should go their own way.
