Saints Over Colts In Super Bowl Who Dat? Saints Dat By A Nose

Its rare when the two best teams in the NFL throughout the season make it to the Super Bowl. Which has made this Super Bowl incredibly tough to predict. Both teams started out 13-0. We have a 50/50 chance of being correct on this one. It's tough to pick against the great Peyton Manning but thats what we're doing. On one hand the image of Manning holding the trophy seems about right, but on the other hand one can also envision Drew Brees holding up the Lombardi trophy.

We predict the game to be a high scoring action filled Super Bowl from start to finish, unlike previous Super Bowls that only came to life in the fourth quarter. Manning the league MVP has the edge at quarterback, but Drew Brees also had an MVP caliber year. In offense themed game the Saints have more weapons on offense than the Colts. The Colts have relied successfully on younger players on offense throughout the season. Marvin Harrison is not there. Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark are great veterans but the bright lights may be too much for the others at the skill positions. The Saints have stand out receivers Marques Colston, Devery Henderson, and Jeremy Shockey can do some damage. A solid rushing attack with Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush. Also Reggie Bush's kick returning ability and his ability to take a simple play and turn it into a touchdown may be the difference. In fact because we believe that Bush will have an MVP caliber game is an additional reason we think the Saints will win it. How they'll win we're not sure. Perhaps in overtime or Manning fails to complete a fourth down with under a minute remaining. Final prediction: Saints 38 Colts 31.

In other NFL news on Super Bowl eve the leading wide receiver and the leading rusher of all time were elected to the hall of fame Jerry Rice and Emmit Smith. Also elected was Rickey Jackson, John Randle, Russ Grimm, Floyd Little, and Dick LeBeau.

The Super Bowl start time is 6:25pm est and 3:25pm pacific time. Get your Super Bowl food and drinks ready (chips, salsa, dip, burgers and beers) because it should be a great one.
