Kobe Bryant scored 37 points and 14 rebounds, to win a fourth MVP at the NBA All Star Game, in Los Angeles. The All Star Game showcased NBA's best with highlight material from Kobe, Lebron James, Amare Stoudemire, and Kevin Durrant. In fact, Lebron messed around and got a triple double.

To highlight the LA centric weekend Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers jumped over a car to win the NBA slam dunk contest. Rhianna gave an amazing halftime performance that featured Drake and Kanye West. All in all a great weekend for the NBA.

NASCAR kicked off its season in Daytona. Annually one of the largest sporting events in America, the Daytona 500 was won by Trevor Bayne for Wood Brothers Racing became the youngest Daytona 500 winner. His win came as many of the top drivers in the game were eliminated. Jeff Gordon was previously the youngest Daytona 500 winner.
