The Tiger Woods saga has ended in divorce. The much publicized marital problems of Tiger Woods are at an end. Tiger Woods and now former wife Elin Nordegren announced that they are divorced. The terms of the divorce were not disclosed though some media outlets previously reported a shocking $750 million dollar settlement for Elin Nordegren. The November car accident coupled with affair revelations put Tiger from the cover of the sports pages to the cover of the tabloids.

The statement appearing on Tiger Woods' website states in part, "We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us."

For golf fans and fans of Tiger Woods now that the divorce is behind him. What does this mean for Tiger Woods the athlete. Over the past year Tiger has looked nothing like the dominant and feared Tiger Woods of a decade ago. He's got rookies taking shots at him. At the PGA Championship Tiger finished tied for 28th nine strokes behind the winner. The PGA exemplified the difficult year Tiger has had. However, with the advent of an amicable divorce and good health we suspect the Tiger of old will reappear to silence the doubters.
