Finally two years after Elijah McClain’s death a grand jury indicted the officers and, paramedics on 32 counts of manslaughter and negligent homicide.
By all accounts Elijah McClain was a peaceful person, an animal lover, and musician. He was unjustly stopped, violently attacked, and killed by the police and paramedics in Aurora Colorado.
The police put him in a carotid hold, called for paramedics who then injected him with high doses of ketamine.
None of the officers involved could articulate what crime McClain had committed to justify the stop. He was a young black man walking home from the store with a ski mask on because he got cold and well it’s Colorado. Elijah’s murder stands out even amongst the most heinous of state killings of black people, as shown on the police video of the encounter, he pleaded with the police to forgive him, and that he loved them, but they did not love him, they along with the paramedics killed him.
