Now that the Democrats control the House of Representatives, they should not move so fast in taking impeachment off the table. In fact impeachment should always be on the table when a President commits “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” See Article II. Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution.  The question then becomes whether President Trump committed an impeachable offense.

First, President Trump has already been implicated in committing a felony through the hush money payments to Stormy Daniels by his fixer and long time attorney Michael Cohen. Second, the Mueller Russian probe continues, despite his claim of no collusion, there is already ample evidence of collusion by the Trump campaign one can only refer to the Helsinki press conference and see collusion all over Trump’s face. See Vox article on evidence of collusion: https://www.vox.com/2018/6/11/17438386/trump-russia-collusion  See New York Magazine article: What If Trump Has Been a Russian Asset Since 1987? http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2018/07/trump-putin-russia-collusion.html

That would mean about half of Americans voted for a Russian implant. If the Mueller probe and or the New York investigations uncover that President Trump is a Russian asset, he should of course be impeached removed from office and perhaps convicted of Treason against the United States. Thirdly, Bribery. Clearly an impeachable offense and something most Americans easily understand as a crime. See this report on Michael Cohen, Trump and Bribery. https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/michael-cohen-s-trump-tower-revelation-could-implicate-trump-bribery-ncna943791

Let’s not forget that the Republicans significantly lowered the bar for what is an impeachable offense. The Republicans impeached President Clinton in 1998 on the grounds of perjury to a grand jury. We all know now that Clinton lied over sex. He didn’t lie over being a foreign agent of U.S. adversary.

House Democrats should simply follow the Constitution, if the Mueller probe or the other investigations uncover treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors, Trump should be impeached just like any other President.
